Marc Little. Floyd Little waited seemingly forever to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and then he is slotted in between Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith. That just does not seem right.
To use a concert analogy, Rice might as well have yelled, “Here’s a song off our new album,” as the crowd moved en mass to the restroom after the receiver’s speech.
Little’s speech could be the equivalent of being the song the Black Crowes play between “She Talks to Angels” and “Remedy.”
One guy in the press box quipped that he was the Zamboni between periods.
But the Little family really delivered the goods. Gil Brandt remarked that this has been a tremendous group of presenters, but Marc Little might have been the best.
Little took some time to thank all of those who helped get him inducted, including Jim Gray. Funny, that name did not draw any sort of reaction from the Ohio crowd, consider Gray was a part of LeBron James “The Decision.” Maybe it was a good thing everybody was in the restroom.

Cathie Lesjak
Cathie Lesjak. The Board has appointed CFO Cathie Lesjak, 51, as CEO on an interim basis. Lesjak is a 24-year veteran of the company who has served as HP’s CFO and as a member of the company’s Executive Council since January 2007. She oversees all company financial matters and will retain her CFO responsibilities during the interim period.
Hurd’s decision was made following an investigation by outside legal counsel and the General Counsel’s Office, overseen by the Board, of the facts and circumstances surrounding a claim of sexual harassment against Hurd and HP by a former contractor to HP. The investigation determined there was no violation of HP’s sexual harassment policy, but did find violations of HP’s Standards of Business Conduct.
A Search Committee of the Board of Directors has been created, consisting of Marc L. Andreessen, Lawrence T. Babbio, Jr., John H. Hammergren, and Joel Z. Hyatt, which will oversee the process for the identification and selection of a new CEO and Board Chair. HP’s lead independent director, Robert Ryan, will continue in that position.
Hurd said: “As the investigation progressed, I realized there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at HP and which have guided me throughout my career. After a number of discussions with members of the board, I will move aside and the board will search for new leadership. This is a painful decision for me to make after five years at HP, but I believe it would be difficult for me to continue as an effective leader at HP and I believe this is the only decision the board and I could make at this time. I want to stress that this in no way reflects on the operating performance or financial integrity of HP.”
“The corporation is exceptionally well positioned strategically,” Hurd continued. “HP has an extremely talented executive team supported by a dedicated and customer focused work force. I expect that the company will continue to be successful in the future.”
Robert Ryan, lead independent director of the Board, said: “The board deliberated extensively on this matter. It recognizes the considerable value that Mark has contributed to HP over the past five years in establishing us as a leader in the industry. He has worked tirelessly to improve the value of HP, and we greatly appreciate his efforts. He is leaving this company in the hands of a very talented team of executives. This departure was not related in any way to the company’s operational performance or financial condition, both of which remain strong. The board recognizes that this change in leadership is unexpected news for everyone associated with HP, but we have strong leaders driving our businesses, and strong teams of employees driving performance.”

Lollapalooza 2010. The annual Lollapalooza festival returns to downtown Chicago on Friday with a pretty peppy line-up that reminds listeners just how much good music is around, even if all of it isn’t on display in Grant Park over the next three days.
Lady Gaga, The Strokes and Green Day pepper the headline slots, and Sunday night features Canadian art-rockers Arcade Fire and the reformed Soundgarden. The afternoons are sprayed with chances for surprises and disappointments.
The revitalized festival is run by the same folks behind Austin City Limits. Lollapalooza 2010 takes a pick-and-mix approach borrowed from its southern cousin and from the edgier Pitchfork gathering in Chicago.
Sprawling Grant Park is beautiful and boiling in early August, and a horse would come in handy to trot around the Buckingham Fountain between the seven stages. No word yet if the police horse whacked by an unruly fan at last year’s event plans to return.
Friday kicks off with Nathan Williams, aka Wavves. The unpolished west coast power-pop of his third album, “King Of The Beach,” should offer crowds plenty of opportunities to sing along–if the temperamental Williams doesn’t wilt under the noonday sun of a 12:15 p.m. start.
The indie band Cymbals Eat Guitars could play its breezy song “Wind Phoenix (Proper Name)” and walk off leaving a lot of concertgoers nodding their heads knowingly and feeling happy. The New York City band’s debut album “Why There Are Mountains” (2009) was a critical hit.
You will be pleased to meet The Morning Benders at noon on Saturday. The harmonies and lo-fi guitar sound on their “Big Echo” album, released this year, cry out to be turned up loud in an outdoor setting.
On Saturday afternoon, the excellent Warpaint promise to wash the crowd with an alt-country sound that can border on the ethereal, though songs such as “Elephants” give the Los Angeles-based all-female quintet ample scope to crank up the volume and avoid its sound being lost in the trees.
The xx follow straight after as the U.K. band translates into a live setting its recorded-in-a-garage eponymous debut. The group’s smart sonic soundscapes and gentle singing style swept up awards last year.
Sunday offers the opportunity for a very long brunch followed by a match-up that pits potential stadium-fillers Frightened Rabbit with the endearingly off-center Erykah Badu, both afforded the same 5 p.m. slot at opposite ends of the park.
Badu set off a media furor earlier this year with a video called “Window Seat” that riffed on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and also involved a kind of striptease. But the neosoul star doesn’t need to rely on attention-grabbing tricks: she arguably has the best voice of any musician at the festival.
Frightened Rabbit have dumped their folk-rock beginnings for a fuller sound that has endeared them far more to audiences in the U.S. than in their Scottish homeland.
“The dark can return with the flock of a switch,” sings frontman Scott Hutchison on “Not Miserable.” “It hasn’t turned on me yet. Yet.”

Dublin Irish Festival
Dublin Irish Festival, The Dublin Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio, is where you can get a real taste of the Irish, without having to travel the world. Each year, the second largest Irish festival in the world, which begins today, draws tens of thousands of people with an expected attendance of over 100,000 people this year.
For 23 years, the Dublin Irish Festival has been entertaining residents of Ohio and attracts many foreigners outside as well. Mary Margaret McLernon, of Dublin, Ohio, traveled to Ireland in 1987 and saw that Spain was preparing for a grand celebration of the millennium. Coincidentally, that same year in Dublin, Ohio achieved its status as a city.
“I thought it would be great to establish a connection between two of Dublin, especially as we celebrate our first anniversary as a city the same year that Dublin, Ireland, which will celebrate its 1000 anniversary,” said McLernon.
Thus, the Dublin Irish Festival was born.
What can be done in a Festival of Ireland, in addition to taking an old drinking which is a lot? There are three full days of drag with 7 stages and over 65 acts of great Irish artists like it, great Irish musician Natalie MacMaster, the band Solas traditional Irish and Celtic rockers Gaelic Storm.
As part of the celebration, an annual Irish dance competition began with one of the first groups called The Greenfields of America, including Jean Butler, who later became the principal dancer of Riverdance.
In recent years, the Irish band Flogging Molly draws large crowds of people danced, clapped and also provided with the band. This year, however, is not scheduled to take place.
Men in kilts playing the bagpipes are also a staple of the festival.
Besides music and dance, the Dublin Irish Festival boasts a host of friends and family activities for its stores in Ireland, with authentic Irish food, and games.
This year the festival begins at 4 pm Friday and runs through Sunday.

What can be done in a Festival of Ireland, in addition to taking an old drinking which is a lot? There are three full days of drag with 7 stages and over 65 acts of great Irish artists like it, great Irish musician Natalie MacMaster, the band Solas traditional Irish and Celtic rockers Gaelic Storm.
As part of the celebration, an annual Irish dance competition began with one of the first groups called The Greenfields of America, including Jean Butler, who later became the principal dancer of Riverdance.
In recent years, the Irish band Flogging Molly draws large crowds of people danced, clapped and also provided with the band. This year, however, is not scheduled to take place.
Men in kilts playing the bagpipes are also a staple of the festival.
Besides music and dance, the Dublin Irish Festival boasts a host of friends and family activities for its stores in Ireland, with authentic Irish food, and games.
This year the festival begins at 4 pm Friday and runs through Sunday.

Mark Hurd. HP CEO Mark Hurd has resigned, leaving CFO Cathie Lesjak to run the company on an “interim basis.” The reason for quitting? He was told to leave by legal counsel due to an investiagtion of sexual harassment against him by an outside contractor. According to the press release, “the investigation determined there was no violation of HP’s sexual harassment policy, but did find violations of HP’s Standards of Business Conduct.”
Hurd said: “As the investigation progressed, I realized there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at HP and which have guided me throughout my career. After a number of discussions with members of the board, I will move aside and the board will search for new leadership. This is a painful decision for me to make after five years at HP, but I believe it would be difficult for me to continue as an effective leader at HP and I believe this is the only decision the board and I could make at this time. I want to stress that this in no way reflects on the operating performance or financial integrity of HP.”
HP also announce preliminary third quarter financials. They are up 11% compared to the same quarter last year with revenue of about $32.7 billion. Sexual harassment cases notwithstanding, at least Hurd raised the company out of the doldrums this year and spearheaded the Palm acquisiton.

Blue Angels Seattle 2010
Blue Angels Seattle 2010. The Washington State Department of Transportation will close all lanes of Interstate 90 across Lake Washington several times from Thursday, August 5, thru Sunday, August 8, to accommodate air show practices and performances by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels for this year’s Seafair festivities.
By closing I-90, WSDOT is complying with Federal Aviation Administration rules to create a safer environment for drivers and Blue Angels pilots by reducing distractions to both.
The closure times are listed below. They include all mainline I-90 lanes between Interstate 5 in Seattle and Island Crest Way on Mercer Island, and the entire length of the I-90 Center Roadway. Also, the bridge will be closed to all pedestrians and bicyclists up to 30 minutes prior to posted closure times.
The exits from westbound I-90 to Island Crest Way and East Mercer Way on Mercer Island will remain open, although drivers should note that heavy congestion during these closures restricts access to the exits.
The listed times are for mainline I-90 closures. Drivers are reminded that the Center Roadway will close up to two hours before the times indicated. The following ramps can be expected to close 30 minutes prior to posted closures depending on congestion: East Mercer Way to West I-90, 76th Ave. SE to West I-90, West Mercer Way to West I-90 and East I-90 to West Mercer Way.

John France. The story of Lynn and John France has hit the Web today after it was featured Tuesday on the “Today” show, and it is truly unbelievable! It turns out that Lynn France discovered a year ago via Facebook that his husband was also husband to another woman in Tampa.
Now John France is living in Tampa with his new wife and even his two children he has with Lynn. “Now, that’s the only way I see my children. It’s just surreal.” Said her during a phone interview.
Today the “Today” show had more information on the case, with the appearance of John France and his attorney. On TV he claimed that his wedding with Lynn wasn’t legal and she knew it. They got married in Amalfi coast in Italy, signing an Italian marriage license they never filed, in an event organized by Regency San Marino.
John France 2nd wedding took place in Disneyworld, in December 2008. In the photos Lynn found out on Facebook she saw her husband playing Prince Charming to his new “princess”. She says she was completely shocked after discovering these pics.
But John France also thought that he was legally married. His attorney explained that in 2007 he wanted to file for divorce, but upon reviewing all the papers and necessary documents, they found out this wasn’t necessary.
John France is currently in custody of their two kids, ages 2 and 3, but his lawyer said he has offered to have joint custody. Lynn’s attorney responded by saying: “It’s going to be hard to co-parent with a man who makes these outlandish statements,”

According to the police report, Jaydon Jones opened a door to its dock and headed toward the lake. Police believe he fell in was found at 7:40 Thursday morning floating near the dock.
His family took him out of the water and called police.

gray summit mo. Two school buses carrying high school band members to an amusement park crashed in Gray Summit, Missouri, killing one student, and injuring dozens more. The buses crashed into a pickup truck, killing the driver.
Gray Summit, Mo. is about 40 miles West of St. Louis. The Buses were on their way to an amusement park when they crashed. The Associated Press reports that the pickup truck rear ended a semi cab, the two buses were right behind and crashed into the pick up.
The first bus was carrying all female members of the school band from John F. Hodge High in St. James. The first bus hit the pick up, and was then pushed on top of the wreck when it was rear ended by the second bus.
At least 42 students were taken to the hospital. Police have not publicly identified the two students that died.

California gay marriage. A federal judge on Wednesday overturned a California ban on same-sex marriage, ruling that the Proposition 8 ballot initiative was unconstitutional.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Vaugh Walker, one of three openly gay federal judges in the country, gave opponents of the controversial Proposition 8 ballot a major victory.
It was also a victory for former U.S. Solicitor General Theodore B. Olson and attorney David Boies, who represented opposing sides in 2000 Bush v. Gore presidential election challenge and filed the lawsuit last year in federal court on behalf of two gay men and two gay women who claimed the voter-approved ban violated their civil rights.
Supporters argued the ban was necessary to safeguard the traditional understanding of marriage and to encourage responsible childbearing.
California voters passed the ban as Proposition 8 in November 2008, five months after the state Supreme Court legalized gay marriage.
Both sides previously said an appeal was certain if Walker did not rule in their favor. The case would go first to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, then the Supreme Court if the high court justices agree to review it.
Walker heard 13 days of testimony and arguments since January during the first trial in federal court to examine if states can prohibit gays from getting married.

Mike Sweeney
Mike Sweeney. According to Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports, the Mariners have traded Mike Sweeney to the Phillies for a PTBNL. Well, I certainly didn’t see this one coming. Sweeney has actually been good this year, posting a .354 wOBA, though frequent injuries have only allowed him to accumulate 110 plate appearances.
Mike’s time in Seattle has certainly had its moments – shaving cream pies, threatening to fight teammates, promoting the nicknames ‘Paper Boy” and “FiFi”, among others. I think what I’ll remember him most for, though, will be his general likability, and the relationship he formed with Ichiro. The post-walk-off interactions those two shared were some of my favorite moments from the 2009 season. Much like Griffey, Mike Sweeney was seemingly able to form bonds with everyone around him, and while the team not sucking certainly helped, I can’t deny that he was a part of what made last year such a special thing to watch.
It really is a shame that his career has been derailed by injuries, because if anyone deserves prolonged success, it’s him. So Mike, good luck in Philadelphia, and I really hope you can manage to stay healthy.

The Prescott Valley police department discovered his body about one mile from his home in Dewey at around 11:30 this morning. They said the area has “been contained and is being treated as a crime scene.”
Emmett’s mother reported him missing after waking up in the early evening and not being able to find Emmett inside the house with her 3 other children. She called her husband and the Arizona police at 8 in the evening. Police say Emmett might have wandered off with the family dog, but the dog came back home without the kid.
The police declined to give further details about the boy’s death. Investigation is ongoing.

Roger Huerta
Roger Huerta. It’s not uncommon for brawls to break out when the alcohol and testosterone come together outside your average club/bar. However, it is unique when one involves a former UFC fighter, as are the overall circumstances surrounding an ugly incident caught on tape this past weekend in Austin, Texas.
TMZ Sports broke word earlier today that 21-4 Bellator lightweight Roger Huerta, who lives in Austin, was involved in a violent physical altercation outside a local club after witnessing a man violently strike a woman in the face, knocking her to the pavement.
Huerta, who has spoken in the past about abuse he suffered as a child, as well as how protective he is towards the fairer sex, is shown to confront the individual shortly after he punches the female.
The two can be seen on tape squaring up to fight, then are consumed by a crowd which later opens up to someone stomping the downed man in the face. The man is later seen getting up with the assistance of his friends with Huerta nowhere in sight.
According to TMZ, the Austin Police Department said officers were called to the scene but no arrests were issued.

vaughn walker. A federal judge overturned California’s same-sex marriage ban Wednesday in a landmark case that could eventually land before the U.S. Supreme Court to decide if gays have a constitutional right to marry in America.
Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker made his ruling in a lawsuit filed by two gay couples who claimed the voter-approved ban violated their civil rights.
Supporters argued the ban was necessary to safeguard the traditional understanding of marriage and to encourage responsible childbearing.
California voters passed the ban as Proposition 8 in November 2008, five months after the state Supreme Court legalized gay marriage.
“Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples,” the judge wrote in a 136-page ruling that laid out in precise detail why the ban does not pass constitutional muster.
Both sides previously said an appeal was certain if Walker did not rule in their favor. The case would go first to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, then the Supreme Court if the high court justices agree to review it.
Walker heard 13 days of testimony and arguments since January during the first trial in federal court to examine if states can prohibit gays from getting married.
The ruling puts Walker at the forefront of the gay marriage debate. The longtime federal judge was appointed by President Ronald Reagan.
The verdict was the second in a federal gay marriage case to come down in recent weeks. A federal judge in Massachusetts decided last month the state’s legally married gay couples had been wrongly denied the federal financial benefits of marriage because of a law preventing the U.S. government from recognizing same-sex unions.
The plaintiffs in the California case presented 18 witnesses. Academic experts testified about topics ranging from the fitness of gay parents and religious views on homosexuality to the historical meaning of marriage and the political influence of the gay rights movement.
Former U.S. Solicitor General Theodore Olson delivered the closing argument for opponents of the ban. He told Judge Walker that tradition or fears of harm to heterosexual unions were legally insufficient grounds to discriminate against gay couples.
Olson teamed up with David Boies to argue the case, bringing together the two litigators best known for representing George W. Bush and Al Gore in the disputed 2000 election.
Defense lawyers called just two witnesses, claiming they did not need to present expert testimony because U.S. Supreme Court precedent was on their side. The attorneys also said gay marriage was an experiment with unknown social consequences that should be left to voters to accept or reject.
Former U.S. Justice Department lawyer Charles Cooper, who represented the religious and conservative groups that sponsored the ban, said cultures around the world, previous courts and Congress all accepted the “common sense belief that children do best when they are raised by their own mother and father.”
In an unusual move, the original defendants, California Attorney General Jerry Brown and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, refused to support Proposition 8 in court.
That left the work of defending the law to Protect Marriage, the group that successfully sponsored the ballot measure that passed with 52 percent of the vote after the most expensive political campaign on a social issue in U.S. history.
Currently, same-sex couples can only legally wed in Massachusetts, Iowa, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C.

Mitzi Kapture
Mitzi Kapture is an American actress, also credited as Mitzi Kapture Donahue. She married singer/songwriter Bradley Kapture in 1982. According to an online interview, Kapture credits her husband for getting her started in acting (TVGen, 1998).
Kapture began her career in films, most of which were not huge commercial successes. She went on to make a few television guest appearances before she gained international exposure with her first major television role as Sergeant Rita Lee Lance in the television series Silk Stalkings. Silk Stalkings premiered on CBS but later moved to USA Network. Silk aired for 8 seasons and became one of USA network's highest rated original series. Kapture's role as Rita, the other half of the two Sams for almost 5 years, cemented her popularity. Paired with Rob Estes (Melrose Place, I do, they don't) (who played Sergeant Chris Lorenzo), Kapture gained global recognition along with her costar since the show was broadcast in several countries. They were nicknamed the dynamic duo by fans. Kapture garnered much praise for her strong portrayal of the character who was a role model for many young women. Sergeant Lance eventually became Lieutenant Lance by the time Kapture left the series in 1995 to have her first child Madison. Her departure from the series together with that of co-star Rob Estes left many fans protesting. During her time with the series, Kapture briefly sat in the director's chair, for two episodes. She was interviewed for the Silk Stalkings Season 1 DVD which was distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment and released in September 2004.
After a short hiatus from the screen following her exit from Silk Stalkings, Kapture returned to the small screen and USA Network. She played lead roles in two USA Pictures Originals telemovies, Perfect Crime (based on a true story, also called Hide and Seek: The Joanne Jensen Story) and His Bodyguard. She later starred a few other independent film projects and theatre productions and had several television guest appearances. Kapture also had a recurring role on Baywatch as Alexis Ryker, helping to boost the show's ratings from 2.8 to 4.2.
In Kapture's current project, a role she began in 2002, she plays Anita Hodges on The Young and the Restless, where she is credited as Mitzi Kapture Donahue. Kapture is the official celebrity spokesperson for the Xeroderma Pigmentosum Society.

Brett Favre is indicating that he may be retiring, according to a series of tweets from Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The legendary quarterback has made a yearly habit of delaying his decision to return to football until the very last moment, but this year appears to be different, if Zulgad's sources are correct.
According to the tweets, "Brett Favre began telling Vikings officials last night he will NOT return for a 20th season." Another said that "Favre is expected to issue a press release later today." The quarterback's ankle injury may be one reason that Favre is reluctant to play this year.
Still, Zulgad cautions that Favre still could return: "There is a chance ownership will go back to Favre with an offer of more than the 13 million for this season," he wrote. And as ProFootballTalk notes, "before Favre returns, he needs to persuade everyone that he won't return. Just like he did last year."

The police told that they never fired their weapons that the prime suspect was gun down by his co-workers as he violently open fire.
News told that the Hartford Distributor warehouse driver Omar Thornton, 34, went on a shooting rampage as he was asked to resign his job. Police said that this shooting rampage killed 9 people and other was wounded with one on a critical condition. lynn france. We have some advice for Lynn France, the alleged wife of alleged Bigamist and alleged parental kidnapper John France. When a parent of your child moves to another state with your children without a custody order "move away" or permission from the courts or intentionally withholds custody time with your children, that's a parental kidnapping. It shouldn't matter if you are married, were married or were never married. You are still the mother or parent of your children and John France is and always will be a parental kidnapper if he blocks custody sharing or custody time.
For the victim parent of a "move away", I imagine it is really difficult to not have contact with your children. I would hope that your attorney has negotiated phone calls with them. I would also hope that now with the NBC Today Show publicity, John France will at the very least agree to some shared custody with out any additional agreements or stipulations.

Mitch Miller, the goateed orchestra leader who asked Americans to “Sing Along With Mitch” on television and records and produced hits for Tony Bennett, Patti Page and other performers, has died at age 99.His daughter, Margaret Miller Reuther, said Monday that Miller died Saturday in Lenox Hill Hospital after a short illness.Miller was a key record executive at Columbia Records in the pre-rock ‘n’ roll era, making hits with singers Bennett, Page, Rosemary Clooney and Johnny Mathis.

The Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany, which had split from the SPD during the war, won 8 percent of the vote. In February the assembly elected Friedrich Ebert as the republic’s first president.
In mid-1919 the assembly ratified the constitution of the new Weimar Republic, so named because its constitution was drafted in the small city where the poets Goethe and Schiller had lived. The constitution established a federal republic consisting of nineteen states. The republic’s government was a mixed strong president and parliamentary system, with the president seen by many as a sort of substitute Kaiser. The president was elected by popular direct ballot to a seven-year term and could be reelected. bill cosby dead. In a replay of an Internet hoax that circulated last Feb. 6, Facebook and Twitter users are once again spreading (and debunking) rumors that 73-year-old comedian Bill Cosby is dead.
The last time this happened, Mr. Cosby "rebuttaled" the false reports on his personal blog, writing: "My wife has just informed me that there is no such word as rebuttaling, she say the word is rebutting. But I don't care, because I'm alive!"

Shark Week
Shark Week. Nothing more needs to be said than that, ladies and gentlemen. It’s finally that time of year again, and we wanted to take the chance to remind you that SHARK WEEK begins tomorrow night on Discovery Channel.If you’re as infatuated with sharks as most people are, then Shark Week is a traditional religious experience, like our own week-long holiday celebration of these fascinating beasts, their many different species and tendencies, and the constant efforts to learn more and more about their existence on our great planet.
As always, the week will be jam-packed with shark specials, and the week will start off right tomorrow night at 9pm with Ultimate Air Jaws. If you haven’t seen them you must immediately, but Air Jaws 1 & 2 takes a crew to the famed Seal Island off the coast of South Africa. In this very special location, Great White sharks have evolved themselves to shoot up from deep within the ocean and jump completely out of the water in an attempt to nab a seal. If you thought it was cool to see a dolphin or whale leap from the water, there’s really nothing like seeing a Great White — who aren’t known for doing so — pull it off. These Whites are like the superheroes of their species.
In this new special, the team returns for another go — this time armed with their HD cameras and amazing technology allowing them to film 2,000 frames per second, giving us the ultimate slow motion look at this true miracle of nature.
This is just one of the many specials that will air, and you’ll likely be able to find anything that piques your unique shark interests. Me being a massive lover of the Great White will seek out any and all specials I can get on the creatures, which are basically living dinosaurs.

Elliott Sadler
Elliott Sadler. Today, during NASCAR’s race at Pocono raceway, driver Elliott Sadler suffered a terrible accident, but luckily he came out unscathed from it. His car crashed into a wall without the SAFER barriers used for protection and found in all races of this kind; the violent car crash sent the engine out of the car.
Luckily we could see how Elliott Sadler emerged from the wreckage by his own means to lay down in the pavement, while emergency help arrived to assist him.
“I’m OK,” he said after he was released from the care center, ”I’m a little sore. The breath definitely got knocked out of me. It was probably the hardest hit I’ve ever had in a race car, but I’ve got to thank all my guys back at home that put these things together. … I’m still in one piece, so it did its job.”
Sadler tried to explain the crash, but he doesn’t understand fully how could this happen:
“Somebody just ran into the back of us and turned us inside through the wet grass into the guardrail, so I was along for the ride,” Sadler said. “It was a very hard hit. I’m a little sore through my chest and my stomach, but that’s from where the seatbelts did their job and grabbed me and kept me in the car, so I’m thankful for that.”

Stuart Appleby
Stuart Appleby. Shooting in the 50s has always been somewhat of an achievement in the game of golf. But for some reason, we’ve seen a lot of different players shoot below 60 recently. There was the high school kid from Alabama. There was Ryo Ishikawa. There was Nationwide player Trevor Murphy in a pro-am. There was Paul Goydos earlier this month. And today, another name is added to the list of recent sub-60 rounds in the world of golf, as Stuart Appleby shot a 59 in the final round of the Greenbrier Classic to finish 22-under and hold off Jeff Overton for a one-shot victory.
Up until today, there had been only four players in PGA Tour history to shoot below 60 in a round. But you could tell early on that Appleby was going to give himself a chance to do something special.
Appleby pulled off a birdie on the Par 4 second, and then just went crazy after that. He birdied holes 4-7, and then got one on 9 to go out with a 28 on the front nine. He continued to ride that confidence on the back nine, where he picked up an eagle on 12, and then birdied the final three holes to finish with the magical number of 59. Pretty impressive to say the least.
All the talk heading into the week was about how short this course was going to play. And when you look at the winning score, 22-under, it should be pretty obvious that this statement held true. It was clear that the course was prime for a low score today, especially considering the low scores we saw in the first three rounds of action. J.B. Holmes had a 60 yesterday. D.A. Points had a 61. So players were getting very close to a round in the 50s.
Overton proved this point as well by starting off the week with rounds of 64 and 62…..and this is usually where we would say “but then he had a bad round of (insert number here).” That just wasn’t the case though. Overton had a 66 in the third round, and a 67 in the final round. You would think that would be a scorecard of a champion. But he was simply a victim of something that was out of his control here.
Sure, he could have made a few more putts here and there to go even lower, but Appleby was the one that just made shot after shot, and it resulted in him winning the tournament.
While the 59 is certainly good for Appleby’s confidence, it also helped that he did indeed win the golf tournament. He’s only made the cut in about half of the tournaments he’s played this year, and just hasn’t played very well overall this season. But if you’re going to bounce back and have a good finish to a season, there’s probably not a better way to do it than shooting a round of 59.
