gray summit mo. Two school buses carrying high school band members to an amusement park crashed in Gray Summit, Missouri, killing one student, and injuring dozens more. The buses crashed into a pickup truck, killing the driver.
Gray Summit, Mo. is about 40 miles West of St. Louis. The Buses were on their way to an amusement park when they crashed. The Associated Press reports that the pickup truck rear ended a semi cab, the two buses were right behind and crashed into the pick up.
The first bus was carrying all female members of the school band from John F. Hodge High in St. James. The first bus hit the pick up, and was then pushed on top of the wreck when it was rear ended by the second bus.
At least 42 students were taken to the hospital. Police have not publicly identified the two students that died.
